Fundraising
Supporting WCRC's Work
Last year, I set a personal fundraising goal of expanding our monthly donor group to 60 people. Well, I got one-third of the way there - not too bad for a novice fundraiser.
WCRC is dependent on our individual supporters to do things like pay the rent, offer support groups, provide information and referrals, honor our volunteers, buy dish soap and computers...you get the idea. We rely on you for pretty much everything.
And you are good to WCRC. Individual donors provide 50% of our operating budget. Can you imagine all that we could not do without you?
My goal for this year, too, is to convince another 40 supporters to sign up to make regular monthly donations. Giving in this way is painless. Add $10, $25, $50 a month to your credit card and you probably won't even notice the difference. But to the Center, that difference will mean $120, $300, $600 a year that goes to general support.
Using the website to sign up for monthly credit card donations is very easy; see the donation page. However, we can send a monthly invoice to anyone who doesn't want to use a credit card.
My sincere thanks,
Merle Weiner

For Bart Riders
BART tickets with tiny bits of value on them that you find in your wallet, pockets and drawers have just become far more valuable to the Bay Area's community organizations. As part of the Tiny Tickets Program, BART ticket holders may donate these tickets to the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Connecting local resources and community needs is what the Tiny Tickets Program is all about.
Please send your "tiny tickets" directly to WCRC at
5741 Telegraph Ave
Oakland, CA 94609
If you're in the area you may also drop them off Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm.
