Swimming is just one way you can support the Women’s Cancer Resource Center’s 11th Annual Swim a Mile for Women with Cancer.

We need volunteers to add to the fun for the estimated 550 men, women and children who will swim at the Swim A Mile for Women with Cancer on October 7 & 8, 2006.

We need people to help with registration, greeting the swimmers, food, selling t- shirts, counting laps and clean-up.

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please ask them to contact Sarah by emailing me at sarah@wcrc.org or calling at 510.601.4040 x 105.

WCRC Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with WCRC is a really fun thing to do! When you volunteer at a community, health or volunteer fair, you have the opportunity to find out about the great work being done at other organizations, in addition to hearing great music, browsing through beautiful art and tasting delicious food. Please contact me if you would like to sign up to staff the WCRC table at the Breast Cancer Fund’s 4th Annual “Bike Against the Odds” event. The shifts will be for about 2 or 3 hours each and we try to have at least 2 people per shift. Set up for the event starts at 9:30 and the event will finish at approximately 5:00. One person stops by the center to pick up the materials prior to the event and another person returns the materials sometime the following week. Call Sarah at 510.601.4040 x 105.

  Non-Toxic Solutions

Buying organic may not be enough to keep you healthy and cancer free.

It’s important to take a look around your home and assess other contributing factors. Life continually bombards us with toxins no matter where and how we try to shield ourselves. The development of chemical sensitivities or something more serious is usually an accumulative effect of years of exposure to a variety of harmful factors.
