- Inflammation: the Silent Storm in Chronic Disease

There is much evidence that chronic inflammation leads to an increased cancer risk. Chronic inflammation unleashes a plethora of agents which can cause mutations in neighboring cells, as well as changes in gene expression favoring the activation or "turning on" of cancer genes (oncogenes). The choices we make every day impact these changes. We will discuss dietary concerns including blood sugar regulation, botanical support and stress reduction to decrease inflammation.

process of writing can be a healing experience, helping the
writer to give voice, color, and texture to emotions. The
purpose of this workshop is to offer a safe and creative space
for the writing of personal truth. Participants can choose
their own mode of personal expression: prose, poetry, journaling,
essay, freeform, etc.

Gentle Yoga for Health and Healing

Volunteer Opportunities
WCRC Volunteer Orientation
Volunteering at WCRC is the perfect way to give back to others,
while at the same time providing nourishment for your spirit.
Attend the Volunteer Orientation on the first Wednesday of
the month and find out about who we are, what volunteers and
interns do and some basic information about cancer. We look
